ZF services Australia expands WA facilities

Global company ZF Friedrichshafen AG opened a new Western Australian facility in mid-June. Located in the Perth suburb of Malaga, the 920 square metre premises are seen as a key part of ZF’s commitment to provide increased service capability and local parts availability to the WA market.

Previously located in two separate and much smaller buildings, the increased warehouse and workshop capacity supports the strategic business growth that ZF Services Australia has experienced in recent years.

Employment opportunities are increasing locally over the next two years, with a long-term plan in place to increase staff numbers by up to 60 per cent within the next six years. ZF currently has 72,000 employees across 27 countries.

Speaking at the opening function, ZF Services Australia Managing Director Chris Adcock said: “In a global sense, Western Australia is a very important market, and we take pride in being able to provide an improved service to our growing clientele in this region.”

The WA operation supplies to individual aftermarket distributors as well as aftermarket divisions of OEM manufacturers, and has a full workshop facility to service and remanufacture ZF transmissions.

The new facility supports all ZF product applications, including SACHS suspensions, Lemforder steering and Boge shock absorbers for passenger vehicles, trucks, buses, marine and mining.
