The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILTA) and the Australian Logistics Council (ALC) have announced an education and professional development program for women in the industry called the Women Moving Forward Mentoring Program.
This program was run by the ALC in 2009 and grew into the largest mentoring program for women in the transport and logistics industry. CILTA will now administer and deliver the program which is endorsed by the Federal Government. This program will target the retention and development of women working in the industry, and will help to identify what women want from their personal and professional lives, assisting them in achieving the goals they set out to achieve.
Already 300 women from over 100 companies have completed this program. Entry is open to all women working in the industry regardless of their role or employer. The first 100 to apply will also receive an Australian Government subsidy of $200.
The first program will commence 23 September, with registrations closing on 15 September.
