WA road upgrades to begin in May

The Western Australian State Government has announced plans to start work next month to upgrade the Goldfields Highway and Wubin-Mullewa Road in WA.
According to the WA State Government, civil construction company MACA Civil and global firm AECOM will join forces in undertaking the $41.6 million project.

“The State Government is committed to improving the safety of country roads and today’s contract announcement is a clear demonstration of that,” said WA Transport Minister Troy Buswell.

“The works on Goldfields Highway will involve up to an additional five sealed overtaking opportunities between Wiluna and Meekatharra on what is predominantly an unsealed road.

“The Perenjori to Morawa section of the Wubin-Mullewa Road will also be upgraded and widened, from single-lane seal width to two-lane seal width, allowing for a safer mix of heavy and light vehicles.”
