Volvo Trucks’ deliveries in July rose by 31 per cent, compared with the year-earlier period. Delivery increases were noted in most of the leading markets.
In Europe, for instance, delivieries totaled 3,121 trucks in July, up 40 per cent compared with July 2010. Key markets such as the UK and Germany reported increases of 31 and 19 per cent, respectively.
The trend for truck deliveries in Eastern Europe remained positive, particularly the Russian market where deliveries in July rose a full 178 per cent year-on-year. As a whole, the number of deliveries in Eastern Europe rose 115 per cent in July, compared with July 2010.
In South America, high demand continued and deliveries in July increased 41 per cent to 2,100 trucks, compared with July 2010. In the heavy segment Volvo Trucks has a leading market position year to date.
In North America, deliveries in July rose by 49 per cent to 1,632 vehicles, despite some disruptions due to production component shortages at the New River Valley plant.
