Viv Hanley AM retires from AFRA position

Viv Hanley AM has retired from the position as Executive Officer of the Australian Furniture Removers’ Association, with Joe Lopino taking over the role.

Viv has been AFRA CEO for 15 years, originally agreeing to take on the position of Executive Director of the Australian Furniture Removers’ Association for three months.

During his time as AFRA head, Viv has been responsible for numerous decisions benefitting members and is highly regarded by all in the furniture removals industry. Viv was awarded the Member of the Order of Australia in 2008 for his contribution to the furniture removals industry.

In the future, he and wife Jan will still be out there on Australian roads, but away from trucks, touring the country by four-wheel-drive and caravan.

New AFRA Executive Director Joe Lopino has worked alongside Viv for the last five months of 2013 and has considerable business management skills along with drive and enthusiasm for AFRA.
