Victorian Premier supports Melbourne ITTES

The Premier of Victoria, the Hon Dr Denis Napthine MP, has issued a statement today in full support of the International Truck, Trailer & Equipment Show (ITTES), underscoring the Show’s importance to the industry and the state of Victoria.

“The International Truck, Trailer and Equipment Show is a growing event expected to attract over 40,000 people, with an additional day added to the 2014 Show. As the freight and logistics capital of Australia, Victoria is the ideal location for this event,” said Dr Napthine.

“The Victorian Coalition Government recognises the importance of the freight and logistics sector to Victorian businesses and the wider Victorian economy. In the 2013 – 14 Victorian budget, more than $500 million was provided for road projects that will benefit freight networks.”

The Victorian Government has compiled its Freight and Logistics Plan, which will guide the effective management of the growing freight task in Victoria, is expected to double between 2006 and 2020, and triple by 2050.

Dr Napthine said the ITTES is “a key opportunity for people and transport companies to meet and share ideas, showcase new vehicles, equipment and technologies, and to establish business relationships.”

“I warmly welcome our international and interstate visitors to Victoria, and encourage you to experience all Melbourne has to offer during your stay, including our acclaimed shopping districts, vibrant arts scenes and diverse cuisine. I congratulate the organisers of the International Truck, Trailer and Equipment Show on what is sure to be another successful event,” he added.
