Valvoline AdBlue receives trademark approval

Following extensive tests and auditing, Valvoline AdBlue has received approval by the German Association of the Automobile Industry (VDA) to utilise the “AdBlue” trademark.

Until recently, the diesel exhaust fluid supplied to the Australian market by Valvoline was known as Valvoline Airshield. A urea based product that effectively reduced NOx emissions in vehicles fitted with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) exhaust systems. Since the introduction of Euro 4 and 5 heavy vehicle exhaust emission standards, engine manufacturers have utilised after treatment systems to reduce the untreated emissions being expelled from a vehicle’s exhaust.

Replacing Airshield, Valvoline AdBlue is produced by combining highly purified urea with ultra clean demineralised water. Valvoline AdBlue is AUS32 (Aqueous Urea Solution 32.5 per cent), ensuring quality standards are maintained in accordance with ISO 22241 specifications.
