UD Trucks has released a range of upgrades to its 350hp heavy duty truck range, to coincide with the launch of Euro 5 emissions. This includes grouping the GK, GW and the CW under the Quon banner.
The Quon series features several upgrades, including an SRS driver’s side airbag with seat belt pre-tensioner and a Front Underrun Protection System (FUPS), both fitted as standard. The series also has an all new-touch screen entertainment and navigation system, and new A-pillar grab handles designed for easy cabin access.
“Safety is very important to us, we are well aware that fleet managers are looking for the best possible working environment for their drivers, so it makes sense to include an SRS driver’s side airbag as standard in all our trucks,” said UD Trucks’ John Bushell.
When the trucks were first released in 2008, they already incorporated the basis of UD Trucks’ ECO Fleet SCR emission reduction technology. Now, the latest generation of the Quon series has been enhanced with optional AMT transmission featuring ECO Fleet shift programming to further reduce fuel consumption and simultaneously provide even smoother acceleration.
The Quon Series is powered by 13 litre turbo charged and intercooled six cylinder diesel engine, developed and built by UD Trucks in Japan and rated at either 400 or 470hp.
The 400hp version has a maximum torque of 1716Nm and the 470hp variant has a maximum torque of 2255Nm.
