The inaugural Young Gunnette Award recognises female talent within the transport and logistics industry.
Transport Women Australia Limited (TWAL) will name the winner at its ‘Living the Dream’ conference dinner which will be held 1 June in Melbourne.
Announced at the 2024 apprentice intake at Cummins Scoresby in February, the new annual award is offered to women under the age of 30 who are making significant strides within the sector.
TWAL said the aim of the award is to not only bring recognition to the outstanding achievements of up-and-coming female leaders but to also inspire, promote and motivate those who are about to embark on their career journey in transport and logistics.
Finalists Ainsleigh Thomas and Ashley Belteky are two individuals who have not only demonstrated outstanding leadership skills but who have also inspired others with their passion and advocacy for women working in the industry.

Presented by TWAL and sponsored by Cummins, a long-term supporter and promoter of showcasing female talent, the winner will be announced at the Hyatt Place, Essendon Fields where companies will also be encouraged to nominate their outstanding young women for the 2025 awards.
The winner will receive bespoke industry-lead training to ultimately assist them in their careers in transport, equipping them with the necessary skills to continue their work in striving for significant and positive change by inspiring other females.
