TruckWeek announces more events

TruckWeek 2012 which runs from 19-25 August, will now include new events listed for Loxton, Coffs Harbour, Dubbo and online.

Hentschke Transport in Loxton has announced the first official South Australian TruckWeek event, with a community BBQ and company show and shine on Saturday 25 August.

Lindsay Transport in Coffs Harbour, along with suppliers Brown & Hurley, K&J Trucks Coffs Harbour and Southside Trucks, will hold a family open day and BBQ for TruckWeek at the Coffs Harbour Showgrounds on Saturday 1 September.

TruckSafe, together with ATA member association NatRoad, will conduct a local media launch of TruckWeek in Dubbo on Monday 20 August. TruckSafe National Manager Justin Fleming and NatRoad CEO Chris Melham will both be present to showcase the trucking industry to local politicians.

Online, the Deafness Forum of Australia will mark TruckWeek and Hearing Awareness Week by releasing fact sheets to help trucking businesses manage noise and help truck drivers reduce the chance that their work will affect their hearing.

Mr Fleming said TruckSafe was a huge supporter of TruckWeek. “TruckWeek is a great opportunity for the trucking industry to open its doors to the local community. I’d like to encourage all TruckSafe operators to invite their local politicians, police, and public to come along to an event and see what the modern trucking industry looks like,” he said.

“TruckSafe operators are the safest trucking operators in Australia. This is our chance to show Australia how the trucking industry delivers.”
