Truckline sponsors V8 ute

Truckline today announced the sponsorship of a V8 Ute in this year’s Yokohama V8 Ute Racing Series which will be driven by up and coming driver, Ryan “Rhino” Hansford from Queensland.

He will take the wheel in eight rounds across all Australian states, with the first race to take place at the Clipsal 500, Adelaide Parklands, South Australia from 17-20 March 2011.

Ryan has been well exposed to motorsport. His father, the late Gregg Hansford was considered one of the best motorcycle riders in the world. During his career, Gregg placed 2nd in the world 250cc and 3rd in the 350cc championships in 1978. Then after switching to four wheels, he also lays claim to the Tooheys 1000 Bathurst win with Larry Perkins in 1993. Ryan hopes to follow his father’s footsteps and claim a Bathurst win when he competes this year during round 6 of the V8 Ute series at Mt Panorama in October.

Distributor of aftermarket truck and trailer parts, Truckline, is proud to be partnering with Ryan during his journey. “It will provide exceptional coverage for Truckline in a sport followed by many in our industry,” said Truckline’s Marketing Manager Jackie Perris.

General Manager of Truckline, Grant Adam added, “With Ryan’s personality, talent, charisma and racing genes, he will no doubt be a great ambassador for Truckline.”

Truckline’s website www.truckline.com.au will provide updated information on Ryan and Truckline Racing as he progresses through the series.

The V8 Ute Series runs as a support program to the V8 Supercars.
