Truck sales up across the board

The Truck Industry Council has released the sales statistics for the month of September and the overall cab/chassis and prime mover market has maintained a 9.6 per cent growth over the same period in 2011.

With three quarters of the year now past, Isuzu remains as secure as ever at the biggest selling brand, notching up 611 new units in September. This brings Isuzu’s year to date total to 5,343 new units which is 24.1 per cent of the market and 10.5 per cent more vehicles than they had sold up until this point last year.

Hino continues to enjoy sales growth well above the 9.6 per cent industry average. Sales of 372 new trucks in September takes Hino to 3,089 units year to date, a healthy 20.2 per cent over last year’s result.

Third position for the month was again held by Fuso with 250 units sold in September and a year to date to date of 2075 trucks. This number may be down 300 units on last year’s result, but with a number of new models being released here before the end of the year, expect the Fuso brand to make a final quarter push.
