TNT awarded ‘Supersector leader’

The conclusion of a report published in Zurich by SAM, a sustainability investment specialist, which assessed the sustainability performance of over 1300 listed companies, found TNT NV to be the ‘Supersector leader’ for ‘Industrial Goods and Service’ (including ‘Industrial transportation’) of the 2010 Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI).

TNT will remain included in the DJSI Europe and DJSI World, which is made up of over 300 companies that represent the top 10% of the leading sustainability companies in the Dow Jones Global Total Stock Market Index.

Managing Director TNT Australia, New Zealand & Pacific Islands, Bob Black, said, “I am very proud of the fact that TNT has once again attained the position of Supersector leader for Industrial Goods and Services in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index. We regard this award as independent recognition of our fundamental belief that corporate responsibility is not a fad for prosperous times, but is part of our long-term business strategy.”

In Australia, TNT is continuing to deliver on its emission reductionist promises. Th company recently added 10 Hino Hybrid trucks to its fleet, taking the total number of hybrid trucks operated by TNT Australia to 30.
