The annual Transport and Logistics Industry Skills Council (TLISC) Awards have recognised industry achievement at The Langham Melbourne.
The TLISC Awards, now in its second year, celebrated contributions made by organisations in training and workforce development.
TLISC CEO, Robert Adams said the event drew an even greater number of nominations than in its inaugural year.
“The buzz surrounding last year’s event, both within the industry and across the media, meant there was a higher level of awareness going into this year,” said Adams. “It was encouraging to see many of last year’s winners and highly commended entries wanting to be involved again. Equally, attracting new interest from large and small organisations across the country means we had a very strong field.”
The 2014 Innovation and Excellence in Workforce Development Award recognised enterprises, which had successfully implemented whole of business solutions to up-skill and train staff through the use of TLISC Training Packages.
The winner for the Road Transport sector was Veolia Environmental Services, while Toll Customised Solutions took first place in the Logistics and Warehousing category.
The panel of judges acknowledged the high standard of entries by awarding several Highly Commended certificates.
Following the success and popularity of this year’s awards, TLISC announced that applications would open for the 2014 Awards for Excellence on 5 December, 2014.
