An alert has been issued by Worksafe Victoria warning truck operators about the dangers of working with raised tipper trays. A number of people have been killed or seriously injured in Australia while inspecting components or undertaking maintenance work underneath raised tipping bodies.
The Worksafe release reminds operators not to attempt work under a raised tray without the tray being mechanically supported. Softwood timber that should not be used for propping and the vehicles lifting mechanism should not be relied upon.
