It’s the biggest truck show in the Southern Hemisphere – and it just got bigger. Organisers have announced that the 2014 International Truck, Trailer & Equipment Show (ITTES) will play host to the most prestigious Show & Shine competition the country has ever seen.
To be held on day three of the four-day event (Saturday, 5 April 2014) and with major exposure on offer, the Melbourne ITTES Invitational Show & Shine will attract the best customised trucks in Australia, made by the leading customising companies from around the country and featuring aftermarket parts and accessories designed locally to meet Australia’s strict design rule standards.
The question that every serious truck enthusiast needs to ask is, does their truck have what it takes to be part of the most prestigious Show & Shine the country has ever seen? If it is, they will be one of a very select few to showcase their vehicle alongside some of the best rigs in Australia at the ITTES in Melbourne in April 2014.
“Ultimately this is an invitational only event focusing on attracting and showcasing the ‘A’ list of customised trucks in Australia,” said ITTES Show Director Clint Hendry. “The ethos of our show is ‘where business is done’ and many of these truck owners also have significant transport businesses in their own right and invest heavily with many of the suppliers who exhibit at ITTES, so it’s a nice fit.
“It will also prove to be popular with the public over the weekend and will be sure to draw in some large crowds over the weekend when the show opens to the public,” he added.
According to Hendry, ITTES has partnered with newly released magazine, Australian Custom Trucks, and its sister publication, Bling’d Up Trucks, for the Invitational Show & Shine to ensure it will be a true showcase of Australian ingenuity and style.
With so many great trucks owned by Australian operators, the decision has been made to open up a submissions to all truck owners who believe they have the truck they think can win some of the major prizes on offer.
Australian Custom Trucks editor, Chris Smith, said an application form will be placed on the Australian Custom Trucks website in the coming weeks to allow online entries. In addition, truckies will be able to apply via the competition entry form in the Bling’d Up Trucks supplement, which will be part of the next edition of Australian Custom Trucks magazine due for release on 10 January 2014.
“We’ll be sending out a release and letting our Australian Custom Trucks Facebook followers know the instant the form is available online,” he said.
“We would like to offer truck owners the chance to submit an entry highlighting the customised work that has been done to their rig as well as pictures of the front, side, rear and inside of the cab for our panel of judges to select the best to feature at the Invitational Show & Shine.”
