Storage and removals specialist, TAXIBOX, has expanded its transport capability with the addition of six new Fuso Shogun 360 prime movers to support its growing national operations.
TAXIBOX delivers portable storage containers directly to customers before collecting and storing them across its network of facilities in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. The company also offers digital tools including an app that helps customers estimate box capacity and track deliveries in real time.
The new trucks are Shogun 360 models, powered by a 10.7-litre six-cylinder turbo diesel engine paired with a 12-speed automated manual transmission.
“We’ve been happy with the Shogun’s so far,” said TAXIBOX CEO, Ben Cohn. “The extra grunt means making the job easier for our drivers, particularly in the more complex and steep delivery network of Sydney and Melbourne’s inner city suburbs.”
Delivered through Daimler Trucks Dandenong by salesperson Brett Munro, the vehicles arrive with a full suite of active safety systems as standard.
Daimler Truck Australia Pacific Sales, Marketing and Operations Vice President, Andrew Assimo, said it was pleasing to see the Shogun integrated into TAXIBOX’s distinctive fleet.
“It is great to see the Shogun hit the road in the iconic TAXIBOX colours,” said Assimo. “We are thrilled that TAXIBOX is using our trucks for its customer-driven business. We’re happy to hear the drivers love them and appreciate the comfort and the quality.”
TAXIBOX also received Fuso’s complimentary truck training service, which provides operators with a detailed walkthrough of vehicle features and optimisation guidance.
The Shogun range is supported by 50,000km service intervals and a five-year/500,000km warranty (whichever comes first).
In operation for 16 years, TAXIBOX has completed close to 80,000 deliveries. Its modular containers (2.4m x 2.2m) are delivered to customers for self-pack or assisted loading before being transported to secure storage sites, with customers able to access their units while in storage.
Also, TAXIBOX recently expanded into interstate and international moving services, alongside a broader range of commercial storage solutions.
In other news, earlier this year, BildGroup acquired its first Fuso all-electric truck.
