SCT is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its sugarcane haulage contract in Northern NSW.
The national logistics and intermodal business announced it had been awarded a new five-year contract with Sunshine Sugar following a rigorous tender process.
SCT Managing Director Geoff Smith said it was a continuation of a long-standing partnership built on trust, reliability, and shared goals for regional prosperity.
“A remarkable achievement considering the harvest season runs only from June to November each year,” said Smith.
“We thank every member of our SCT team who has contributed to this journey, including those who have been with us since the very beginning,” he said.
“Your dedication has been the driving force behind this success. Here’s to the next chapter of innovation, efficiency, and continued partnership.”
Over the past two decades, SCT has hauled more than 35 million tonnes of sugarcane to the Condong, Broadwater, and Harwood mills.
The speciality sugarcane fleet was recently bolstered by eight new Mercedes-Benz Actros 2646 prime movers and, heralding a new partnership, eight new Tefco quad trailers.
SCT runs each unit to 50.5-tonnes, assigning 27 tonnes to the trailer, with a total vehicle length under 19 metres.
These deliveries expand the specialty fleet to 37 units.
