Scania and the company which essentially owns it, Porsche, have come to an agreement to work together as partners in the development of the next generation of truck cabs for the Swedish truck manufacturer.
“In Porsche Engineering Group we have found a partner that shares Scania’s values and views on development and production,” said Scania head of Research and Development, Per Hallberg. “We will develop a cab frame together that is optimised for Scania’s requirements on starting and functionality, as well as for rational production.”
The deal means Scania will get access to Porsche’s highly advanced engineering services in areas such as material analysis and structural testing.
