The inclusion of a dedicated Roads & Civil Works Expo has given Melbourne’s iconic International Truck, Trailer & Equipment Show (ITTES) an unprecedented boost, Show Director, Simon Coburn, revealed.
According to Coburn, providing equipment manufacturers with a separate platform to address this vital growth sector proved a “critical success” during the launch phase, with initial take up exceeding expectations.
“With roads and civil construction playing a pivotal and powerful role in the national economy, it is appropriate that this multi-billion dollar industry has its own specialist exhibition,” he said – adding that the importance of the event is also highlighted by peak industry bodies like the Australian Asphalt Pavement Association (AAPA) officially partnering with it.
“The feedback we have received so far shows that such an event was long overdue. And as the sector is a major player in the truck industry, with bulk haulage representing a large component of tipper and specialised vehicle requirements, the connection with ITTES just comes naturally.”
Coburn added that 2016 will mark the first time the industry will have the chance to work in with the truck and trailer industry in an exhibition environment and come face to face with thousands of new customers, creating new business opportunities.
“Roads and civil infrastructure fits perfectly with the largest commercial road transport showcase in the nation. In combination with our second specialist event, Waste Management in Action, and our dedicated Careers Pavilion, we will re-define the notion of a classic truck show and make ITTES Australia’s premier destination for commercial road transport in all its facets.”
According to Coburn, both Waste Management in Action and the career component of ITTES will be officially launched in the coming weeks. Both are already seeing strong sales and enquiries for exhibitions space.
