The Queensland Trucking Association has broken with tradition and named its first trucking woman of the year, awarding CEO of the Hawkins Family Group, Roz Shaw.
Head of local companies Hawkins Fuels, Hawkins Road Transport and Moreton Island Adventures, Roz has earned the respect of her peers by demonstrating a real passion for her industry, demonstrating exceptional leadership and putting the Hawkins business at the leading edge of innovation.
Taking on the reins of her family company at 31 years of age, Roz has grown the business to now employ more than 170 people. Roz is a firm believer that women can do any job they want and leads by example, pioneering workforce initiatives in her own business, as well as promoting these throughout the industry, including her role in the award-winning Women take the Wheel initiative.
