Queensland operator wins $400,000 Kenworth truck

Dysart Queensland trucker and farmer, Graham Nitschke, has won a customised $400,000 Kenworth in Castrol's ‘The Big Haul’ promotion. The truck was displayed at the PACCAR stand at the Brisbane Truck Show before Graham took it home to Dysart on Sunday.

Over a five month period, 22,000 instant prizes including 50 $500 fuel cards were awarded to Castrol customers, but the Kenworth was the big prize. “I’m still up in the clouds,” Graham Nitschke commented. “I can’t get over it!”

According to Graham, who operates in Northern Queensland, the win couldn’t have come at a better time. “The recent rains didn’t do us any favours,” he said. “We couldn’t load at the quarries; we couldn’t deliver at the mines. And it was too wet to load grain at the depots. But this win will ensure we’re ready for the upturn.”

Graham runs a fleet of seven Kenworths ranging from a 1975 W925 through to a 2009 T908, with a focus on carting gravel, grain and carting float up to 50 tonnes. The Dysart-based business also runs B-triples and road trains across Queensland, and employs nine staff.
