In an initiative being driven by the Queensland Transport and Logistics Council and the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, a new Draft Integrated Freight Strategy for Queensland has been released in draft form for discussion.
With the rapid growth in the demand for freight services around the state, a strategy has been called for to ensure the movement of freight meets the needs of the growing Queensland economy now and into the future.
The development of the strategy has come from discussions with stakeholders through the QTLC who has talked to government representatives, industry associations, transport operators, infrastructure owners and freight customers. The Queensland TMR is now seeking broader industry and community input to ensure any future strategy responds to emerging issues and challenges for the future development of freight movement in the state.
