Pure Dairy marked a milestone for the business last week with the official opening of its new manufacturing facility.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony in Dandenong South, a key hub in Australia’s manufacturing economy, represented a new chapter for a company that works closely with cold chain specialists and transport firms.
The $100 million facility is strategically located for logistical access to Port Melbourne as well as national rail and highway networks.
Focused on ”growth, collaboration, and driving the future of dairy“, Pure Dairy offers a full range of end-to-end services for food services, retail and commodity buyers and sellers.
The new facility, one of four international offices for the company, features multiple production lines, a test kitchen, and the headquarters of the international thought leaders in the dairy trade.
The 13,000m² facility will manufacture a range of premium dairy products, including mozzarella, cheddar, and specialty cheeses, for both domestic and international markets.
Referred to as a dynamic manufacturing platform, designed to enable future innovation and rapid adaptability for Pure Dairy and its partners, the business said the new facility would keep it at the forefront of the ever-changing international dairy industry.
Colin Brooks, Victorian Minister for Industry, Advanced Manufacturing and Creative Industries, and Deputy Mayor Sophie Tan from Greater Dandenong Council were both in attendance alongside representatives from major fast food chains such as Subway and Guzman y Gomez.
“Our food manufacturing sector leads the nation and this is another vote of confidence in Victoria and our economy,” said Minister for Industry and Advanced Manufacturing Colin Brooks.
“This new facility in Dandenong is a win for the community – creating local jobs and cementing the region’s reputation as a hub for manufacturing.”
