Promoting road safety

Pro-Visual Publishing has launched the Road Transport Industry Guide to Workplace Safety 2011 in a push to increase safety on our roads.

Last year, the Roads and Traffic Authority has found that 37.7 per cent of heavy vehicles exceeded the speed limit in 100km/h zones last year. Research by the National Transport Commission also found that if all heavy vehicles complied with speed limits, there would be a 29 per cent reduction in heavy vehicle crashes.

The Road Transport Industry Guide to Workplace Safety 2011 addresses the shared responsibility of drivers, employers and customers of the road transport industry to adhere to Chain of Responsibility duties, rather than ignoring safety procedures to meet unreasonable deadlines.

“The Road Transport Industry Guide to Workplace Safety 2011 is an easily accessible resource for all involved in the Road Transport Industry,” said John Hutchings, CEO, Pro-Visual Publishing.

The Guide will be distributed free of charge nationally and is produced and distributed without cost thanks to industry sponsorship.

Mr Hutchings concluded, “I would like to thank all of the great sponsors for their support of the Road Transport Industry Guide to Workplace Safety 2011 who have made it possible for the Guide to be distributed free of charge.”
