Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) has formed a new alliance with Price & Speed, one of Port Botany’s leading container freight stations.
Price & Speed provides general import unpack and export pack solutions, FCL (full container load), LCL (less than full container load), out of gauge handling, special project handling including heavy transport haulage, bulk grain packing and unpacking, DAFF (Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry) steam cleaning and cool room facilities.
The most recent service provided by Price & Speed includes airfreight inspections between Monday and Friday, with the availability of pre-booked arrangements over weekends.
Paul Zalai, Director and Founder of FTA, stated that Price & Speed had met industry’s needs for managing sensitive freight such as flowers and fresh produce direct from the airport to a state of the art cool room with fumigation chambers.
“The solution allows freight forwarders and customs brokers to immediately process time sensitive cargo and to on-deliver to importers’ cool-rooms in the quickest possible time,” Paul said.
Speaking at the recent inaugural FTA Executive Forum, Managing Director of Price & Speed, Kevin Malouf highlighted the diversity of operations focussing on compliance issues faced by industry in relation to wide loads and overweight containers through to issues associated with the operation of a fully manned Quarantine Approved Premise and Customs licensed Sec 77G depot.
“We are a 24 hour operation and Container Freight Station (CFS) approved depot for overweight boxes (containers) to come back directly from the wharf to be readjusted,” Kevin said.
Price & Speed have their own weighbridge to provide assurances that cargo is correct to proceed to destination and not risk overloading breaches by truck drivers. This also allows Price & Speed to unpack or pack flat racks or bolsters for over dimensional cargo which can now only be done at an approved CFS station.
“Our alliance with FTA provides a respected voice for industry, ensuring compliance with a wide range of import / export statutory provisions and operational support to the freight and trade sectors,” Kevin Malouf said.
