Detectives investigating the theft of approximately $700,000 worth of alcohol are interested in speaking to the driver(s) of a Kenworth truck seen near a product distribution centre in western Sydney on a number of occasions last year.
Between July and December 2013, large volumes of alcohol were stolen from a product distribution centre in Eastern Creek.
Detectives believe the thefts were carried out on 13 separate dates between July and December. Champagne, vodka, scotch, rum, wine and pre-mixers were taken and detectives believe the combined cost of the liquor stolen over the five-month period totals approximately $700,000.
Police from the State Crime Command’s Property Crime Squad have formed Strike Force Glenlee to investigate the thefts, and officers would now like to speak to the driver(s) of a truck seen at the product distribution centre on a number of occasions last year. The officers believe the driver or drivers may be able to assist with inquiries into the incidents.
The vehicle is a white Kenworth Aerodyne, with LED lights at the front of the cab, red Kenworth signs at the top of the windscreen and a ‘cross’ style sticker on the side cab extenders at the rear section of the truck.
Detectives believe the truck regularly travelled through suburbs near Campbelltown and Liverpool in Sydney’s south-west, before and after attending the product distribution centre in Eastern Creek.
Detectives ask that anyone with information about the truck call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page.
Information provided will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
