P&N Logistics invests in Western Star

New South Wales refrigerated freight business P&N Logistics has recently taken delivery of a new Western Star 4864FXB prime mover.

“The original plan was to add one extra truck each year, but it’s been three of four every year lately,” said Peter Cheney of P&N Logistics.

According to Peter, truck is fitted with a 54 inch Stratosphere sleeper cab and is now working hauling P&N’s refrigerated trailers along the East Coast.

The engine is a DD15 Detroit Diesel rated at 560HP at 1,850 rpm and drive is delivered to the Meritor RT46160 rear axles via a 20 speed Eaton-Fuller transmission. The truck is rated at 106 tonnes GCM and was handed over by Sydney Truck Centre’s Western Star Manger Shane Boag.

In addition, a 30th Anniversary edition Western Star 4900FXT is also on order for P&N Logistics and is due for delivery in a few weeks.

Owned and operated by Peter and Natalie Cheney, P&N Logistics operates from Marsden Park in western Sydney and services a number of big corporate entities throughout NSW and along the eastern seaboard in Queensland and Victoria.
