Penske Australia will deliver 180 MAN and Western Star prime movers to Toll Group as a new strategic partner.
The contract announced yesterday includes the supply of A-double, B-double, and single trailer-rated prime movers in bonneted and cab-over configurations with the potential in future to supply prime movers capable of pulling quad configurations.
Deliveries will commence immediately.
“Our national fleet team worked very closely with the Toll Group to tender a submission that was a bespoke fit for the unique requirements of Toll,” said Craig Lee, Executive General Manager of On-Highway at Penske Australia.
“The Western Star X-Series and the MAN truck generation both have exceptionally efficient fuel burn rates, innovative technology, and an overall total cost of ownership package that is highly attractive.
“Given Toll’s commitment to safety, we are confident that the Western Star and MAN safety packages will surely exceed all requirements.
“Our team is excited to commence this strategic partnership with the Toll Group, particularly given the synergies in our overarching corporate values that guide our operations.”
Shaun O’Flaherty, General Manager of Global Fleet Management at Toll Group, said fuel efficiency, safety features, and ergonomics were key factors in the selection process.
