The Victorian Transport Association has announced that Paul Freestone of Freestone’s Transport has been elected as VTA President for the seventh year. Under Paul’s leadership, the VTA has had its best financial result in any period of its 110 year history.
“This is groundbreaking commitment by Paul, all the Board members are very pleased he has accepted the position once again,” commented VTA Chief Executive, Philip Lovel AM.
“Paul gives freely of his time and is always willing to do anything to enhance the VTA’s industry role. It doesn’t matter what the issue is Paul is always willing to help out and get involved on behalf of the Association and our members.
“We like to listen to all opinions. Paul is an operator with his own money invested in his company – he is a risk taker and when he speaks we listen.
“The VTA has a very diverse membership and sometimes the position taken is not agreed across the membership or industry. This is what makes a successful association; we have our say, argue our points and move on. Paul Freestone is always enthusiastic, no matter what the issue or problem.
Mr Lovel concluded, “We look forward to another successful year for the VTA with Paul Freestone as President. 2012 has plenty in store for the Association and the Industry and we are already working on some fantastic projects.”
