Paccar launches own brand of aftermarket parts

The Brisbane Truck Show was the venue for the Australian launch of Paccar’s own aftermarket parts brand, known as TRP. The business started in Europe as a range of trailer parts sold via DAF dealers and has since grown to be a $300 million global aftermarket brand, according to James Mackie, General Manager of Paccar Parts Australia.

“The TRP range of quality American and European truck and trailer parts includes routine maintenance and replacement parts for all makes of truck, plus a wide range of workshop consumables,” Mackie said at the Brisbane launch.

When the range becomes available at Australian Kenworth and DAF ALLrig dealers in July, there will be 20 categories containing 500 different lines of parts. Mackie said that the intention was to grow this to 2,000 different items by the end of this year.

The range is intended to cater for European and American trucks that are between five and twenty years old. “Typical TRP parts will be 10 to 20 per cent less than Original Equipment with a minimum twelve month ‘hassle free’ warranty backed by PACCAR,” he added. “It will appeal to owner operators who value high quality parts at a keen price point.”

Parts to be available initially include alternators, starters, air conditioners,  v-belts, brake boosters and compressors as well as TRP branded coolant.

“TRP has been specifically designed to help keep slightly older vehicles and trailers turning and earning. That's what really matters to those who are literally driving the Australian haulage and trucking industry,” Mackie said.
