As part of the Southern Expressway Duplication in South Australia, the O’Sullivan Beach Road Bridge will be closed to all traffic from Friday, 25 May.
The South Australian Government’s Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure said the closure is required to relocate utility services, support the existing structure, excavate and then construct the bridge extension for the O’Sullivan Beach Road Bridge.
The closure is expected to remain in place until December 2012 with no access across the bridge for motorists, cyclists or pedestrians.
Works on the $407.5m Duplication are also well underway between Bedford Park and Old Noarlunga to help create a free-flow north south corridor between Gawler and Old Noarlunga.
