OSIT2012 details released

The Queensland University of Technology’s Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety -Queensland (CARRS-Q) will play host to the first Occupational Safety in Transport Conference (OSIT2012). 

OSIT2012 will be held at the Crowne Plaza, Gold Coast, Queensland on September 21-22. The conference will be a multi-disciplinary session featuring representatives from road and transport safety, aviation and watercraft, fleets, safety culture and management, construction safety and associated fields. 

Themes at OSIT2012 will be cover a variety of topics including Organisational Safety Culture and Management Systems; Organisational and Industry Transport Risks; the Use of Technologies; Interventions and Program Strategies and Evaluation; as well as Data-driven Interventions and Evaluations

The Conference is expected to attract a large number of delegates from around Australia and overseas, including fleet managers, workplace health and safety officers, researchers, policy and process developers, engineers, vehicle manufacturers, local and State government representatives and practitioners.

Designed to encourage a strong program of both industry and academic presentations, keynote speakers have been drawn from both Australia and overseas, and bring new and innovative research and practice to the conference. 

The conference keynote speakers include David Jenkins, Vice President Safety & Security, Group HSEC, BHP Billiton; Professor Mike Regan, Centre for Transport and Road Safety Research, University of New South Wales; and Professor Narelle Haworth, Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety Queensland (CARRS-Q).
