Queensland-based heavy earthmoving equipment supplier, Orionstone, has taken delivery of a new Isuzu 8×4 FYH 2000 to support the company’s mining equipment on site and to provide in-pit servicing.
According to Orionstone General Manager – National Accounts, Ben Hailes, the FYH 2000 really stood out when the company was looking for a new heavy-duty service truck.
“We wanted a truck that could handle the harsh conditions that you often find at remote mine sites,” he said. “Carrying capacity was also important as we wanted a truck that could transport the service module used by the FYH 2000’s predecessor vehicle.
“Another important consideration was to offer a homogenous fleet of service vehicles to increase user acceptance and efficiencies of servicing the fleet. We were looking for a specific truck for the RTA project and the FYH 2000 was an ideal fit.”
The FYH 2000 has a service module body, which has a gross vehicle mass of 30,000 kg, provides storage for diesel, hydraulic fluid, engine oil, waste oil, and includes a grease tank and pumping equipment. For extra protection against tough and remote conditions, the truck is fitted with custom features such as a bull bar, a roll over protection system (ROPS) and a heavy duty Amolock 400 protective surface coating.
