Newcastle family business Beavis Party Hire is making waves in the events hire space with help from Hino.
The fleet now includes both the Hino 300 Series Standard Cab and the 500 Series Standard Cab, each chosen for its unique capabilities.
On the features of the 300 Series, Ashton Beavis-Massey, General Manager, cites its compact build, manoeuvrability, and fuel efficiency.
“It ticked all the boxes for us — reliable, tough, and plenty of room for all our equipment,” he says.
“It’s a gem for the smaller, tighter accessibility deliveries. They’re excellent for their 2.5 tonne carry capacity to take larger event hire and bulky furniture equipment. The cab size also allows us to assign three staff members to complete each delivery.”
Founded by Beavis-Massey’s parents Craig and Carol Beavis in 2005, the company was their second following on from a family business that also involved equipment and truck rental.
With such a business, they employed several different truck brands to cater to a variety of rental needs.
It was in the early ’90s that Hino first came to the attention of Craig Beavis.
“Dad thought it looked like a very solid truck,” recalled Beavis-Massey. “Being Japanese built, he knew it meant quality and reliability, and the pricing was right too.”
It wasn’t too long after that Beavis Snr got to compare one of their other trucks with a Hino.
“Needless to say, after a very short time the Hino truck won outright,” said Beavis-Massey.
“The drivers just loved the comfort, air-conditioned cab, tilt cab for servicing, rugged build, and engine power.”
When the family launched Beavis Party Hire, Hino naturally became their go-to for delivery vehicles, seamlessly aligning with their new venture’s needs.
As the business expanded, so did its need for a larger vehicle.
“The 500 Series gives us much larger load and weight capacity,” said Beavis-Massey.
“We regularly hire Structured Marquees with integrated timber floors, which can sometimes mean 2 tonnes of wooden boards, 2-3 tonnes of steel and around 3 tonnes of weighted blocks. The 500 Series takes the load logistics in its stride.”
Having both trucks gives the Beavis Party Hire team the flexibility to take on any job.
“Both trucks are super reliable and super safe with handy features like the Lane Departure Warning System, Reverse Camera and Pre-Collision System, so we know our team are in good hands. The comfortable cabins are a bonus on those long, busy days too,” added Beavis-Massey.
There’s already plans in place to add another Hino to the fleet.
