New truck wash launches in Sydney

My Truck Wash Xpress is on its way to building Australia’s first fully automated truck wash network. The company’s first site was opened in Albury in 2011 and the new Sydney facility celebrated its opening on April 12.

Many leading fleets have been using the Albury site, which was recently upgraded and is now providing a wash time of below 15 minutes.

By using the unlimited wash program, users have been able to lower their cost-per-wash to $50. According to My Truck Wash Xpress, this is a saving of approximately $50 compared to washing the vehicle themselves or using a public manual wash. The company also says that a manual truck wash can take up to 30 minutes longer.

The new Sydney site at 14 Sammut St, Smithfield was opened at the Standard Weighbridge premises in order to allow vehicles to wash and/or weigh their vehicle in less than 10 minutes. The wash itself takes less than 4 minutes.

While the Albury site is open 24-7, the Smithfield site is currently open from 6am to 10pm from Monday to Friday and 6am to 2pm on Saturday.

To celebrate the opening of the Smithfield site, My Truck Wash Xpress is offering a $65 rate for all vehicle types at both locations until 31 May 2012 – a 35% discount for B-double customers.

The company has also adopted an automatic payment system and RFID (radio frequency identification) tags. Drivers with RFID tags drive through the wash 24-7 without stopping as they get automatically billed.
