New Scanias for Martin-Brower

Specialist restaurant logistics provider, Martin-Brower, has taken delivery of seven new Scania prime movers at their Sydney facility. The seven G440 6×4 prime movers are part of a fleet upgrade that consists of 13 G440 prime movers to be delivered during December and seven Scania P320 8×2 rigids that will be delivered early in 2013.

The sleeper cab prime movers are fitted with Scania’s 440 horsepower six cylinder EGR engines coupled to the Opticruise automated manual transmissions for full two pedal operation. Scania retarders are also fitted to each truck, as well as weight saving alloy wheels and fuel tank protection plates.

The eight-wheelers feature 320 horsepower five cylinder engines and Opticruise transmissions. They will be fitted with either 12 or 14 pallet capacity bodies as well as tailgate lifters.

The 20 new Scanias will be replacing some of Martin-Brower’s older Scanias, many of which have travelled in excess of 1.2 million kilometres.

The delivery caps a good year for the Swedish manufacturer which has sold 509 new trucks up until the end of November, a 28 per cent increase over their sales for same period in 2011 and already 55 units up on their total year sales with December yet to be added.
