Isuzu has begun selling a remodeled Giga heavy-duty truck on the Japanese domestic market. The new model has been introduced to meet the lower exhaust emission standards to be introduced later this year. The new truck with a modernised cabin design uses a new SCR emission control system developed jointly with Hino.
A new engine to power the Giga has been introduced. The 9.8 L engine is considerably smaller and lighter than the current 13L sold here in Australia to power the Giga. The new engine features a substantially upgraded electronic control system said to improve fuel efficiency.
