The new generation Hino 300 Series has become the first light duty truck in Australia with vehicle stability control (VSC) as a standard feature.
Hino explained that VSC is an additional layer of safety that assists the driver in maintaining control of the vehicle. It is designed to help prevent the vehicle from skidding out of control should it deviate from the driver's intended path through a corner.
All new generation 300 Series models also feature SRS airbags for the driver and passenger, and emergency locking retracting (ELR) pre-tensioning seatbelts. They are also equipped with four-wheel ventilated disc brakes with ABS braking and electronic brake-force distribution (EBD).
Manual transmission and AMT models are fitted with Hino's ES (Easy Start) hill-start assist.
An expanded range of Hybrid 300 Series models will be launched later in the year.
