The Brisbane Truck Show proved to be an ideal platform for Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) to launch the new Canter light truck which is now in its eighth generation and available in 3.5 to 7.5 tonne GVW variants.
Australia is the third major market to see the launch of the new Canter, following on from Japan and North America. Late this year, the model will also be released into the European market; and will be available in 40 new markets by the end of 2012.
MFTBC President Dr. Albert Kirchmann said the Australian launch is a strong symbol of Fuso’s commitment to the local market. He also commented, “Our plans call for us to continue a global product offensive in 2011, even as we focus on returning to full production in Japan.”
The new Canter will be distributed by Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific, Pty Ltd (MBAuP).
MBAuP is headquartered in Melbourne and has a network of about 50 dealer locations in Australia.
