Navman presents new fleet management tool

Fuel usage and carbon footprint have come under the spotlight with the introduction of the Carbon Tax and the heated debate on the topic. That’s why Navman Wireless has now announced the launch of a Fuel Usage and CO2 Emissions Reporting Suite, designed to work in conjunction with its existing GPS Fleet Management Solution.

Developed for any business with a fleet of vehicles, the new system enables management to monitor the total fuel usage and CO2 emissions for each vehicle using the industry-leading OnlineAVL2 program.

According to Navman, users can select the frequency of reports, select the vehicles they would like included and specify the average cost per unit of fuel for the selected reporting period. As a result, managers have the additional ability to sort reports by vehicle group and individual vehicles.

“Any business with a fleet of vehicles is concerned about the introduction of the Carbon Tax,” said Ian Daniel, Vice President Asia Pacific at Navman Wireless. “Australian businesses are looking for new ways to minimise their fuel costs and eventually the costs associated with the Carbon Tax. We now have an affordable yet effective solution to help companies proactively reduce their fuel usage and CO2 emissions and improve their operational efficiency.”

The OnlineAVL2 reporting suite also helps organisations identify patterns to improve driving behaviour as curbing wasteful driving habits such as idling and speeding can dramatically reduce costs. “Businesses can easily identify which specific vehicles or drivers are unnecessarily burning fuel by idling or speeding and work proactively with those drivers to rectify the situation,” said Daniel.
