The National Windscreen Group (NWG, formerly National Windscreen) has announced another step in its expansion process with the acquisition of a Tasmanian business.
After recently expanding into Alice Springs, NWG has acquired Action Auto Glass in Tasmania.

With locations in Burnie and Devonport and a sister company in Action Auto Sliders in Lawnton, Brisbane, NWG will now be able to grow in the Apple Isle.
The acquisition will settle on Friday July 25, seeing NWG acquire Tasmania’s largest auto glass business.
NWG’s fifth acquisition since investment by boutique corporate advisory firm Nash Advisory will see its footprint grow to a network of 16 owned branches.
Action Auto Glass began in 1985 as Ability Windscreens, founded in Burnie, Tasmania. In 1987, Rose Kemp joined the company and in 2006, Rose and Paul Kemp purchased and took over the business which had a staff of six.
Over time, the business grew significantly to a team of 25 and being the auto glass repairer of choice for Tasmanians in the north. In 2008 Rose and Paul took on a ‘Tint-a-Car’ franchise, diversifying and expanding their offering. In 2012 a rebranding and renaming occurred, transitioning from Ability Windscreens to Action Auto Glass.
After almost two decades of dedication, innovation, service excellence and success including opening purpose-built workshops in both Burnie and Devonport, Rose and Paul decided to sell to give them more time to focus on their other business and personal interests.
Rose and Paul will support the transition of Action Auto Glass to NWG and are excited to sell the business to such a customer focussed and progressive auto glass business.
Action Auto Glass is the supplier of choice in Tasmania for all major insurance companies, including the home grown RACT Insurance. Action Auto Glass can repair any vehicle including trucks, coaches and earth moving equipment.
NWG will invest heavily in the business to continue to build out competencies to handle the ever-increasing challenges with technology in new cars and trucks. Action will also be expanding its footprint, with news to come about that imminently.

Action Auto Glass and Action Auto Sliders director Rose Kemp has welcomed the change in ownership.
