National HQ for ALTA

The Australian Livestock Transporters Association has launched a project to secure ownership of its own national headquarters. The association is to buy the title over the office accommodation in the ground floor of a newly constructed development in the northern suburbs of Canberra, 20 minutes from the airport and 12 minutes from Parliament House.

Ownership of its own headquarters will further strengthen the financial situation of the ALTA, leasing out most of the newly acquired office space to tenants. All of the state associations which comprise the ALTA are contributing to the purchase.

“Securing our ALTA national headquarters is part of building a stronger voice for our industry,” said David Smith, ALTA National President in a letter to members. “It is an asset that will grow in value and generate income helping to ‘fund the fight’ essential to the future viability of members.”

Members are being encouraged to make their own contribution to the development of a new national HQ by buying a brick as part of the development to be displayed on a ‘Wall of Honour’.
