Friday and Saturday’s LNG Story demonstration, mirrored a recent demonstration in Melbourne hosted by EVOL LNG, for their transportation, industrial and remote power stakeholders formed part of a ConocoPhillips Australian education road show.
ConocoPhillips Australia-West President, Todd Creeger said the objective of the LNG Story demonstration is to build community awareness of the industry’s long track record of safety.
“As an energy provider we take safety very seriously and the LNG Story helps to bust misconceptions about LNG safety, while highlighting the environmental and economic benefits,” Mr Creeger said.
“We are delighted to be able to showcase this live LNG demonstration to our eastern states customers to show that LNG is a safe and economical fuel source” EVOL LNG Business Manager, Nick Rea said.
“Over time, the use of LNG as a transport fuel has become a more attractive option due to reduced particulate, CO2 and nitrogen oxide emissions compared with traditional transport fuels.
“LNG is also a lower cost fuel in comparison to diesel.”
EVOL LNG is currently identifying areas for expansion opportunities across Australia in the heavy-duty vehicle, industrial, and power generation markets and is researching new markets such as marine, mining and rail.
LNG is natural gas that has been cooled into liquid form at -161C so it can be safely transported around the world.
It is an important part of Australia’s energy future and supporting a global low emissions future – with billions of dollars’ worth of projects on the drawing board.
Natural gas is used in homes and businesses for cooking, heating, electricity generation, vehicle fuel, manufacturing and other industrial uses.
