More Kenworths for Followmont Transport

Followmont Transport has accepted delivery of three new Kenworth K200s as part of its ongoing $25 million investment into new equipment over the next 12 months.

Followmont Transport told Prime Mover the three new prime movers are part of six K200s it has ordered for the first half of the year. The final unit is expected to arrive later this week.

The new Kenworths will be used across Central and North Queensland to help Followmont Transport maximise its services across its regional network.

Just last month, the fleet accepted delivery of two new Kenworth K200s and a Mack Anthem under the same growth strategy.

Managing Director, Mark Tobin, told Prime Mover the Kenworths are a favourite among his drivers.

“Our Followmont drivers are always excited about getting their hands on any new Kenworth product, the struggle is getting the keys back off them,” he said.

“They are one of the most versatile and flexible prime movers in our fleet and are suited to our network.”

According to Tobin, the fleet currently has over 50 Kenworths in operation.

Having purchased Kenworths for over 20 years, he said they have proven their capability in Followmont’s operations.

“They are trucks that we know will fit into our business for the next ten plus years,” he said.

In addition, Tobin said he was pleased to deal with Brown and Hurley and PACCAR for the Kenworths.

“We value our partnership with Brown and Hurley and the PACCAR dealers across the regions we operate in, they provide peace of mind, and we have confidence in not only the product, but the service they provide Followmont in both Queensland and New South Wales,” he said.

“Internally, we also have a lot of skilled technicians in our workshops that are PACCAR-trained and remain a critical component of us meeting our customers’ expectations.”

In other news, Damian Smethurst has been promoted to Managing Director of PACCAR Australia, effective 8 May 2023.
