Michelin Service Centre (MSC), the company’s truck and bus distribution network of independent tyre dealers in Australia, has celebrated its first birthday on 1 July. “And the story of success has just begun,” says Adeline Lau, Michelin’s Channel Manager Truck.
“Offering truck and bus operators a range of professional service solutions, Michelin Service Centres provide expert product knowledge and the highest quality range of tyres in Australia,” says Adeline. “Our experienced teams have extensive tyre product and service knowledge and will provide truck and bus operators with a quality service that is second to none.”
Offering quality products beyond Michelin and Michelin Retread, each Service Centre may also offer wheel balancing, tyre repair service, re-grooving and battery service. “Every MSC is a one-stop-shop for truck and bus tyre and related services,” Adeline resumes. “Michelin Australia has launched MSC in 2010 and invites independent tyre dealers looking for an edge for their business to join the Michelin Service Centre network.
“Operating as a network of independent tyre dealers, the network offers transport operators professional service solutions, expert product knowledge and the highest quality range of tyres in the country,” Adeline adds.
The National Safety Council Australia (NSCA) has been working with Michelin Australia to develop and implement an industry specific accredited Occupational Health and Safety programme comprising of three rating levels, Gold (Advance); Silver (intermediate); and Bronze (initial). “All Michelin Service Centres have achieved Michelin Australia Safety Accredited Program (MASAP) Bronze level as a minimum,” Adeline explains.
Upon successful achievement, MASAP accredited sites are recognised by Michelin Australia as an OH&S endorsed dealership. In addition, the program will allow each dealership to continuously improve OH&S performance as each rating is achieved. “The programme is a bi-partisan project between the NSCA and Michelin Australia. It’s unique to Michelin Australia and upon completion will see Michelin and their associated dealerships lead the tyre industry in OH&S and risk management initiatives.”
Already successful on an international scale, particularly in the Asia Pacific region, Michelin Service Centre is a one-stop-shop, saving customers time and expenditure on maintenance and servicing. “MSC’s introduction to the Australian market has further established the company’s acquired leadership position over the last 100 years, focusing on its relentless efforts in research and development for tyres and mobility,” Adeline says.
