Michelin racing truck in Townsville

After making the long trip North from Melbourne to Townsville, the Michelin Competition truck has made a visit to the Michelin Service Centre in Townsville to check everything was in working order before the truck headed to the latest round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Australia.

Shay Tallon and the team in Townsville gave the truck a “VIP treatment”, checking its tyre pressures and how the tyres are wearing to ensure they are running safely and at optimum performance.

The Michelin Competition truck, a specially modified Renault Magnum, carries valuable cargo to racetracks around the country. It is the operational hub for the team during a race weekend and carries everything the Michelin Competition team need to fit and inflate the race tyres safely and efficiently.

For the team it was an easy choice to visit the Michelin Service Centre in Townsville to get their tyres checked. “Working in motorsport and driving from one end of Australia to another – we know the importance of correct tyre maintenance can have of the performance on you vehicle,” said Trevor Sheumack, owner and manager of European Technique, Michelin Australia’s motorsport tyre distributor. “Shay and the team gave us peace of mind knowing everything was in good working order.”

The Michelin Service Centres are a network of independent tyre dealers that together form Michelin’s premium truck and bus distribution channel.

“Being an authorised Michelin dealer means we have the product knowledge and technical expertise gained through training and direct support from Michelin’s technical team at the end of a phone. This is invaluable to our customers who are seeking to gain the most out of every dollar they spend,” said Shay.
