MICHELIN Connected Fleet Australia has partnered with Australian Fuel Tax Credit automation specialist, Nuonic, in a move designed to reduce administrative workloads and deliver greater operational insights for transport operators.
The collaboration will see fleet data from MICHELIN Connected Fleet Australia integrated directly into Nuonic’s platform, enabling automated Fuel Tax Credit reporting and helping operators reduce the burden of manual compliance processes.
According to MICHELIN Connected Fleet Australia Country Manager, Franck Estoquie, Nuonic was selected because of its strong reputation and expertise in the Australian market.
“Nuonic stood out as the clear partner in Australia due to its strong expertise in Fuel Tax Credit automation and its proven track record supporting hundreds of transport operators,” he said.
“The timing is also key. We’re seeing increasing demand from fleets for integrated, automated solutions that go beyond traditional solutions. This partnership allows us to immediately deliver high-value outcomes by connecting our data with a best-in-class local platform.”
The partnership reflects MICHELIN Connected Fleet Australia’s broader strategy of evolving beyond solutions into a connected ecosystem model that links platforms, partners and operational data to solve customer challenges.
“This partnership is a concrete example of our transformation,” said Estoquie.
“Historically, solutions providers focused on collecting and displaying data. Today, customers expect much more.
“Our role is to connect ecosystems – bringing together the right partners, platforms and data flows to solve real operational challenges. By integrating with Nuonic, we’re not just providing fleet data; we’re enabling compliance, financial optimisation and actionable insights across systems.”
Fuel Tax Credit compliance remains a significant administrative challenge for many operators, particularly those managing multiple vehicles and activities. Manual data collection, fuel apportionment, reporting obligations and audit requirements can consume substantial resources while creating compliance risks.
Operators can reduce those challenges with MICHELIN Connected Fleet Australia’s solutions data and Nuonic’s automation capabilities according to Estoquie.
“By combining our high-quality connected solutions data with Nuonic’s automation platform, we remove manual steps, improve traceability and significantly reduce compliance risk,” he said.
While the level of benefit will vary depending on fleet size, MICHELIN Connected Fleet Australia expects operators to save hours of administrative effort during each reporting cycle while also improving accuracy and audit readiness.
For transport businesses, the integration is designed to operate seamlessly in the background.
“Data flows directly from our platform into Nuonic’s system, generating ready-to-use, compliant reports,” said Estoquie.
Beyond compliance, MICHELIN Connected Fleet Australia said the partnership can help operators unlock greater value from their data.
“The real opportunity lies in optimisation,” said Estoquie.
“Operators can better understand fuel usage patterns, identify inefficiencies across routes or operations, improve asset utilisation and make more informed operational and financial decisions.
“It turns compliance data into a decision-making tool, not just a reporting obligation.”
Australia remains a strategically important market for MICHELIN Connected Fleet Australia’s global operations, with local developments often influencing broader international initiatives.
“Australia is a highly strategic market for us,” said Estoquie.
“It is advanced in terms of fleet digitisation, regulation and operational complexity, making it an excellent environment to develop and validate innovative solutions. What we build and learn here can often be scaled to other regions globally.”
Nuonic CEO, Sebastian Jezierski, said: “By integrating MICHELIN Connected Fleet data with NUONIC’s platform, fleets can focus on running their operations while the system automates reporting and ensures compliance – a real step forward for efficiency and operational peace of mind.”
The partnership also aligns with growing demand from operators for integrated technology ecosystems rather than standalone fleet management products.
“Customers are increasingly looking for connected solutions rather than standalone tools,” said Estoquie.
“They want platforms that integrate seamlessly with partners and automate workflows end-to-end. This is exactly where our strategy is focused – building an open, connected ecosystem that delivers more value through partnerships.”
Smaller operators and owner-drivers are also expected to benefit from the arrangement, gaining access to enterprise-grade compliance tools without requiring large administrative teams.
“This is particularly valuable for small and medium-sized operators who often lack dedicated back-office teams,” said Estoquie.
“By automating Fuel Tax Credit processes, we remove administrative burden, reduce reliance on manual expertise and provide access to enterprise-grade compliance tools.
“It allows smaller fleets to operate with the same level of efficiency and confidence as larger organisations.”
MICHELIN Connected Fleet Australia plans to continue expanding its ecosystem through partnerships focused on automation, data integration, compliance and operational efficiency.
“This partnership is a great example of what we aim to achieve: turning data into tangible value for our customers,” said Estoquie.
“By working closely with partners like Nuonic, we can simplify complexity, improve efficiency and help operators focus on what matters most – running their business.”
