Mercedes-Benz Truck & Bus is pledging its support for Brainwave Australia and 20th Man Fund through the launch of its Neighbourhood initiative.
Mercedes-Benz will support Brainwave Australia, the nation’s only charity that provides relief for families affected by paedeatric brain injuries, and Les Twentyman’s 20th Man Fund, which supports homeless, disadvantaged and disconnected youth.
It will provide financial contributions to both organisations, as well as contributions in the form of staff volunteering and skilled-assistance.
“At Brainwave, we’re proud to have a strong partnership with Mercedes-Benz Australia that helps us to deliver our important support work to children and their families facing brain illness or injury,” said David Blackley, Chairman of Brainwave.
Mercedes-Benz Trucks has developed an Apprentice Development Program, which will allow 20th Man candidates to learn and develop the skills required to be a leader in the automotive and transport industry.
“You can’t put a price on giving a young person a future and all of our partners play an important role in not only allowing us to continue our services but also, and importantly, allow us to grow and expand our service outreach,” said Wayne Owens, General Manager, 20th Man Fund.
According to Mercedes-Benz, the aim of the Neighbourhood initiative is to drive positive community outcomes in Australia.
“The new initiative will be a key focus of our entire business, our staff and our customers,” said Justin Whitford, General Manager, at Mercedes-Benz Truck and Bus. “It’s not just about supporting financially but genuinely assisting the work and services these fantastic organisations provide.”
