Truck manufacturer MAN has confirmed it will continue to support Triple Eight Race Engineering as the ‘Official Transporter’ for the 2012 V8 Supercar season.
Fulfilling arguably one of the most important roles within the Brisbane-based team, two MAN TGX prime movers are tasked with ensuring the TeamVodafone and Triple Eight Race Engineering Holden Commodores tour the country safely to and from each event, amassing almost 90,000 kilometres throughout the season.
TeamVodafone Team Principal Adrian Burgess is thrilled at the continued association and has full confidence in the two MAN transporters to deliver team’s Holden Commodore V8 Supercars promptly and safely to each circuit.
“Transporting the TeamVodafone race cars around Australia is not a job we take lightly, we would only trust that responsibility to our two MAN TGX trucks,” he says. “Like our race cars, we need power, efficient consumption, reliability, drivability, while also wanting to present ourselves with the best looking equipment in the paddock.”
Defending V8 Supercar Champion Jamie Whincup says the relationship with MAN underpins the teams desire to ensure they used high quality products. “Triple Eight Race Engineering is all about innovation and engineering excellence and as a company we like to be surrounded by high quality products which makes MAN the perfect fit for us,” he says.
MAN General Manager Marketing Don Hanson feels privileged to work alongside TeamVodafone again and supply the highest quality of transport for their V8 Supercars. “MAN is proud of the association with Triple Eight Race Engineering. As with Triple Eight, MAN has a long and storied history of exceptional engineering as well as a history of supporting motorsport worldwide,” he says.
